The vehicle traffic at the Hani i Hotit border crossing has significantly increased in recent days, becoming one of the busiest points of entry and exit, particularly in the outbound lanes. Along with the Muriqan crossing, Hani i Hotit is experiencing an unprecedented surge in traffic. Sources from the customs office indicate that the movement of vehicles has risen sharply, especially over the last 24 hours. This increase is primarily linked to the return of emigrants heading back to their countries and to those who have chosen Kolasin as a destination for a weekend getaway.

To manage this increased flow, the authorities at Hani i Hotit are working intensively with two booths – one for entry and one for exit. This has helped ease the situation, but long queues have still formed due to the high number of vehicles passing through during the day.

According to the latest data, on January 2, approximately 19,000 individuals crossed through the Muriqan and Hani i Hotit border points, with 11,000 leaving Albania. The crossing has also witnessed a surge in buses and heavy vehicles, which has caused some difficulty in traffic flow. This has contributed to the formation of long queues, adding tension at this border crossing. However, customs authorities are making efforts to manage the situation as efficiently as possible, providing faster and more effective service for travelers.

In general, this is a challenging time for everyone passing through this border point, as patience and understanding are required due to the high volume of traffic faced during these days.
